7L Editions
The publishing house, Éditions 7L, came back to life in 2023 with the aim of publishing works that reflect and celebrate the eclectic spirit of their founder, Karl Lagerfeld. They present forms and subjects ranging from literature and photography to fashion and design.
« I like the idea of a very diversified book programme. I am only guided in my choices by my intense curiosity and the unlimited range of things which interest me. »
Karl Lagerfeld
The new Éditions 7L are accompanying the reissue of the writings of Marie Laure de Noailles : from her novel La Chambre des écureuils to her literary essays Journal d’un peintre or Lettres provençales. The catalogue also includes a number of coffee-table books, including Triptyque by Ronan Bouroullec and Xavier Veilhan. Chanel Haute Couture Shows, documenting the collaboration between the artist and CHANEL. And finally, a collection on contemporary photography in which the winner of the 7L Photography Grand Jury Prize will be able to present one of his photographic bodies of work.

Éditions 7L were launched in 2001 by Karl Lagerfeld with the aim of publishing works mainly in photography and fashion, echoing the interests he shared with his friends (Grace Coddington, Roni Horn, Fran Lebowitz…) or republishing rare books (Moï Ver Paris, The Japanese Box), in the rigorous tradition of book-objects. From 2001 to 2019, Éditions 7L published around fifty books, in association with Steidl.
